Sculptra® Aesthetic works subtly and gradually over time for a more youthful-looking appearance. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra Aesthetic helps stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging. Sculptra Aesthetic is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as a one-time treatment regimen of up to four injection sessions that are scheduled about three weeks apart.​

Collagen Stimulation is the Difference

Facial collagen loss is a key factor in an aging appearance. Collagen acts as a support structure for your skin, provides overall volume and gives shape to your face. At about age 30, collagen loss decreases elasticity and moisture.  Sculptra Aesthetic®, or poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), is a facial injectable that adds volume to correct shallow to deep nasolabial folds (smile lines) and other facial wrinkles.

How Does it Work?

Sculptra Aesthetic® works with your body to revitalize collagen production, helping to restore your skin’s inner structure. Sculptra® Aesthetic stimulates your skin’s own natural collagen production to increase overall facial volume.

Sculptra Aesthetic® is injected into the skin to add immediate volume and smooth away wrinkles. In a few days, the initial volume diminishes, but micro particles remain and work to help stimulate growth of your own natural collagen to replenish volume. 

​Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra Aesthetic is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)–based treatment.1 Once injected, it begins working deep within the skin to stimulate collagen production, reinforcing the skin’s inner structure and restoring its volume.

  • Replace : Injectable PLLA begins working within the deep dermis to replace lost collagen and reinforce skin structure.
  • Restore : As micro particles of injectable PLLA are absorbed, a collagen framework is provided to gradually restore volume.
  • Refine : This results in the smoothing out of shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds for a more refined appearance that can last up to 2 years.

Where is Sculptra Aesthetic®​ Used?

At CosmeticliniC, we use Sculptra Aesthetic to rejuvenate and refresh the skin in the following areas:
  • Hollowing in the temple and mid cheek areas
  • Re-volumization of the face with significant overall facial volume loss
  • Finishing touches to dermal fillers, when collagen building is still needed

What Kind of Results Can You Expect from.

Sculptra Aesthetic works subtly and gradually to restore a youthful-looking appearance. Over the course of several treatment sessions (an average of 3 over a few months), Sculptra Aesthetic produces results that
emerge over time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Indication: Sculptra® Aesthetic (injectable poly-L-lactic acid) is indicated for use in people with healthy immune systems as a single regimen for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles in which deep dermal grid pattern (cross-hatch) injection technique is appropriate.

Sculptra Aesthetic should not be used by people that are allergic to any ingredient of the product or have a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. Safety has not been established in patients who are pregnant, lactating, breastfeeding, or under 18 years of age.

Sculptra Aesthetic has unique injection requirements and should only be used by a trained physician. Contour deficiencies should not be overcorrected because they are expected to gradually improve after treatment.

Sculptra Aesthetic should not be injected into the blood vessels as it may cause vascular occlusion, infarction or embolic phenomena. Use at the site of skin sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives or infection should be postponed until healing is complete. Sculptra Aesthetic should not be injected into the red area (vermillion) of the lip or in the peri-orbital area.

The most common side effects after initial treatment include injection site swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching and lumps.

​Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been reported.

​Sculptra Aesthetic is available only through a licensed practitioner.
