Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Excessive sweating can be an embarrassing and disabling condition for some. It can affect a person’s social, marital and professional life. Excessive sweating of axillae (armpits), face, hands and sole of feet can be successfully treated by injecting Botox in to the dermis of the skin. The procedure can be very painful and local anaesthesia or nerve block would be recommended.

We advise that people with hyperhidrosis should seek advice and treatment from their family doctor first. Local treatment can be very successful. If it does not work then Botox is recommended. Before the treatment with Botox is carried out, the relevant area must be cleaned and painted with iodine and sprinkled with starch. This highlights the area that is affected by excessive sweating for ease of treatment. Before making an appointment please let us know if you are allergic to iodine or take any medication which may react.
